Calling Glen (optional rules)
Glenn this is a big ask but I feel it needs to be raised. It would be a very nice feature if players were able to change optional rules during the course of a game. I don't know if it is possible programming wise but it would save considerable grief when rules don't quite work as expected or for some other reason i.e. balance. If players wanted to change a rule, then rather than the 'no way' dialog box displaying, perhaps a another box asking what rule(s) is desired to be checked or unchecked, the player would then have to enter his password and choice of rule(s), if the opposing player applied for the same change and supplied his password then the rule(s) would be amended. This would be a nice bit of chrome. I have had quite a few games I have had to terminate and restart (sometimes 20 or 30 turns into a campaign) because of an optional rule or even a default rule having an undesired affect.

I know this is probably too much to ask but I had to ask anyway….:chin:

RE: Calling Glen (optional rules)
I dont know Krak - it just seems logical to me that players would decide which rules they want to play with before the game starts. On top of that is it movcing the goal posts after the game starts - I'm sorry - just makes no sense, not to mention that to allow something like this would open the game up for more cheating and we don't want to go there for sure.

Anyway - I say pick your rules before you want to start or before the first turn is over. If after you decide to change, restart the game.

...of course if the game is such that it is between such good friend that you don't need PBEM Encryption, then it could be possible. But encryption and changing the optional rules is not compatible.

Actually - quite easy - just make sure your not using encryption in your PBEM games and I can help you out. I just thought everyone was using encryption out there.

RE: Calling Glen (optional rules)
Yeah your probably right, my issue comes from only the odd game where a problem arises that could be helped by such a change. Thanks for your thoughts. cheers
