RE: Help
@ A Canadian Cat

Of course, you shouldn't move any more anti-tank guns during an ongoing battle. It's obvious that these guns will be detected and destroyed immediately.
I mean, you want to position anti-tank guns at the beginning of a battle. And that's why they're always discovered in CMx2. At the latest when you unload and set up the cannon.Even if it's just a question mark that the opponent sees.
I mean, I'm not going to put the gun in the middle of a field or on a football pitch. But in forests or behind hedges.
Nevertheless, it is always immediately detected by the enemy before it is even ready to fire.
That's why hardly anyone buys anti-tank guns or infantry guns. They take too long to set up (they often just spin around in circles) and are detected anyway.

That is just not my experience - at range at least.

RE: Help
I’ve run into this a few times with US TDs and it’s usually not spotting itself but engagement logic. Overwatch tends to make veteran crews more selective, not less — they wait for a clean firing solution and will often choose smoke if they feel exposed and don’t like the odds. The M36 especially is cautious because it knows it can’t trade hits.

What helped me was giving a narrow armor target arc and slightly adjusting hull facing so the gun is already close to the expected threat axis. Once they get that first engagement off, they behave much more aggressively.

In my experience they’re not refusing to fire — they’re refusing to take a bad shot.

SOM matches are randomly assigned and count as ladder games. Abandoning them due to misfortune is considered poor form.
