Looking for a couple games of Moscow 42
I've been away from the "sport" for a while and just stumbled on M42. Looks great! I would like to pick up a game or 2 <100 turns of Moscow 42. Open to suggestions on scenarios/rules.

Aside: Are "alt" versions of these scenarios available now? It also looks like there is an unofficial update to the game posted here, is that correct?

Cheers,
Dave

Good to see an old veteran returning to the fold!

Yes grab the files Strela has posted in the "sticky threads" area as they fix a few minor issues that have surfaced post M42 launch.

No _alt versions of scenarios for this title.

I'm thinking one of the following with default rules + Alt Assault.

a0106_06 (32 turns)
1206_04 (40 turns)
a0110_01 (40 turns)
1206_03 (88 turns)

I generally like the attacking side but that's negotiable. Big Grin

Dave,
Ill take the germans in a0110_01.. use default +alt assult. I'm not sure about delayed disruption...40 turns is about on the edge for that rule. I would not use it in a 20-30 turn game as it'd be too tough on the attacker to meet his objectives.

OK cool. I'd like to leave delayed disruption off as well. My understanding is that scenarios are tested at default settings and this rule has good potential to be unbalancing (at least in my view). So if that works for you, I'll get the game started shortly.

yah sounds good-delayed disruption I think is best used in the big games with the A class troops (germans) on the attack against the D class (russians) They can get over that hurdle and make the game interesting not so sure about Ivan meeting that burden-and i know in the summer "what if" scenarios, the Russians on Defense would need that rule for sure

I suggest Alt Assault off for the winter scenarios in Moscow '42 & on for the summer ones.

The Soviets will have a hell of a time breaking through any bunker lines due to their low hard attack values with this rule in play.
