RE: Military Channel (Tuesday 1900 Central)
I saw the first episode of Tank Overhaul last week, where they were restoring a British Comet. Overall the show was decent. The restorers in this episode were these 3 guys on the Isle of Wight who have a privately owned tank museum.

There were some really good shots of them dismantling the tank (they even have an ARV to help with the dismantling), but the show ended with the tank only about 1/2 restored. I was a little disappointed with that. They did show a different restored Comet at the very end of the show that came to a tank show the guys held at their facility. (Interesting scenes of a T-54 running over a compact car repeatedly as part of the show.)

I am hoping the Panther episode will go further into the restoration process. Next week is a Sherman, and the following week is a Hellcat.

Haven't seen the show yet, but the previews look promising. Just where does someone go about picking up spare German parts?

I can only assume your local BMW dealer has those as well Big Grin

The guys restoring the Comet were using three seperate Comets to restore one tank.

The Comets they were using came from British tank fire practice ranges, so you can imagine that they had a few holes in them. Eek

Jim,

Just sent a private message to you via the Blitz. Should be in your Private Message cp. Not sure my emails have gotten through in the past, so wanted to post to let you know that one is there.

Thor
