Campaign 1776 Scenarios - marsh1081 - 06-08-2020

I have spent some time working on new scenarios since JTS released the map editor for the Early American Wars series. The maps of Savannah and the base of the Charleston map were not made by me and were included in the latest update from JTS. I do not take credit for their creation. Everything is unpacked into the main 1776 folder. Download the most current update for best results.

The scenarios and maps:

Capture of Savannah 1778
Siege of Savannah 1779
Blackstocks 1780
Blandford 1781
Brier Creek 1779
Charleston 1780
Fallen Timbers 1794
Fort Sackville 1779
Kekionga 1790
Kettle Creek 1779
(new) Moncks Corner 1780
Moore's Creek Bridge 1776
(new) Paoli 1777
Pensacola 1781
Quebec 1775
Quinby's Bridge 1781
Stono Ferry 1779
Wambaw Bridge 1782
Tidyman's Plantation 1782
(new) Waxhaws 1780
St Clair's Defeat 1791
Whitemarsh 1777

RE: Campaign 1776 Scenarios - -72- - 06-08-2020

I always thought that Savannah map had far too much open ground on it; yes I had it before all of this, but it wasn't my map either - worse, at the time I did not have access to the map editor either so I wasn't able to do anything with it much.

Ok- actually nothing, I was not able to do anything to it, and considering at about that time GMT had just put out their title on the same battle (and their map looked closer to the source maps) - I don't know that I wanted to be put into the position of answering why the map in here was so much more open than the one used in the GTM Games title.  I mean I suppose it would have been another thing if it was one that I had made...

fwiw- if I ever play around with that map I will extend it to the right a few columns of hexes - maybe come up with a 1778 landing scenario and take it from there.

Looking good though.

Hi:

I'm new to this forum. I'm a very big history buff and love 18th century wars. I downloaded your scenarios. I haven't played any of them yet but I've looked over the Pensacola scenarios and they look magnificent. I see your order of battle appears to be extremely accurate! Very well done. Love it!

Only wish the Spanish could have the correct flags but I understand that may not be possible within the parameters of the editor.

Thanks,

Rudy

I am really impressed with this work. I think there are several ways round the flags issue. Both with and without using the JSGME mod enabler. I will try and have a play over the Christmas break and post here.

Also there is a new book on Pensacola from Helion just out which I will have to buy now.

The moding potential of this series is massive particularly once a way to make 3D counters to replace the 3rd troop models can be worked out.

Kind regards
Ian
