Jison's Map Mod - dukemat - 04-10-2019

Has anyone noticed that the Map Modes at "Jison's Map Mod's for Panzer Campaign's Gold" uses a 2dsymbolsLg.bmp file that has no graphical symbols?

RE: Jison's Map Mod - Simulacra53 - 04-12-2019

It has been this way even before the Gold games.

2DSymbolsLG.bmp only contains NATO icons, the graphical icons have been left out.

You could mix the original file with the Jison mod and have both, it would not be that hard to do. I thought of doing so myself, but I don’t use the graphical symbols in PzC as they are too small - I wish it had the native 2x view of PzB.

That said, this would be an easy mod, a couple of minutes per game on your drive.
I might even do it for all the Gold games I have and share the zip.

As far as I can see these are compatible with at least the following games as there does not seem to be much variation in the base file*. Only missing object I found was No11 on the Eastern Front (mobile AA) which I fixed.

2DSymbolsLg_WF_F40.bmp

- France 40

2DSymbolsLg_WF.bmp

- Salerno 43
- Sicily 43
- Normandy 44
- Market Garden 44
- Bulge 44

2DSymbolsLg_EF.bmp

- Smolensk 41
- Moscow 41
- Rzhev 42
- Kharkov 42
- Kharkov 43
- Mius 43

Just rename to 2DSymbolsLg.bmp
Of course using JSGME is always smart.

Finally - IMO best used with the updated 2DSymbolsSm.bmp file(s).

*EDIT: if you want me to add further games, just send me the original bmp file (if it is different) and I'll create another file for that particular PzC game.

You are welcome.

Please note this is a very easy mod, just mixing different layers from existing files and flattening them. All creative and hard work was done by WDS and Jison, I am just cutting and pasting.

Trying to give something back to a great community (and hoping WDS and Jison will work their magic on SB, PzB and MC).

RE: Jison's Map Mod - All_American - 05-03-2019

Just curious, what exactly does this do? Graphics wise?

RE: Jison's Map Mod - dukemat - 05-03-2019

adds graphics instead of nato symbols for those that want to use them

RE: Jison's Map Mod - Simulacra53 - 05-04-2019

Additional option to coincide with the release of Japan 45 and Jison's latest corresponding Mapmod - incredible!

Respect

2DSymbolsLg_PTO.bmp
Jison NATO + original graphical units

2DSymbolsSm_PZC_PTO.bmp
Jison NATO + mine markers

Also changed Sigint markers in both to match the unit marker colors -> green & tan
(updated, sigint color correction)

finally - a little out of place in this thread

JAPAN45_2DFeatures100.bmp
something I could not resist doing (sorry Jison) I've "enhanced" the new jungle tile to make it stand out from the forrest tile (something you can do better than me, hint hint).

Rename to
- 2DSymbolsLg.bmp
- 2DSymbolsSm.bmp

- 2DFeatures100.bmp

Copy to ..\Map
Backup your originals and better yet (learn to) use JSGME

Thanks to JST, WDS and Jison!

RE: Jison's Map Mod - TMinus One - 05-04-2019

Wow, Jison's, WDS's and JST's work looks so good in Japan '45! And thank you Simulacra53 for making the additional options.

Not only these are great games, this community is equally great!
