winter Counterattack? - O.Schmidt - 01-31-2016 Hello all! Anybody know what about winter Counterattack? Is this a panzer battle game? See link: http://www.thesharpendgaming.blogspot.de/2015/09/1943-winter-counterattack-scenario.html RE: winter Counterattack? - Hadge - 01-31-2016 Hi, Looks like an independent gamer and scenario designer. There also appears to be a series of scenarios for Kursk available by the same chap:- http://www.thesharpendgaming.blogspot.de/2015/12/panzer-battles-perekop-1941-available.html THE BATTLE On September 17, 1941 having assumed command of the 11th Armee, General Erich von Manstein shifted the strategic focus of the army away from Melitipol and instead towards breaking into the Crimea by way of the Perekop isthmus. After a lengthy reconnaissance of the Soviet defenses there, General Hansen of the LIV Corps was instructed to begin his attack against Perekop and the Tartar Wall defensive line on the morning of September 24. Over 2,000 replacements, artillery assets and part of LSSAH were assigned to Hansen to assist with and exploit the breakthrough. Sorry if this has been previously posted by the "regulars" Just going to have a look at the scenarios now Cheers Chris RE: winter Counterattack? - Strela - 01-31-2016 (01-31-2016, 09:52 PM)Hadge Wrote: Hi, Chris M, whose site that is has been officially working with us on various projects. His PerekoP scenarios were our first collaboration and a way that Chris could learn the ropes. Unfortunately for Chris, Normandy was released three days after Chris published his scenarios and they haven't got the recognition I believe is due. Have a look, you'll enjoy them. David RE: winter Counterattack? - Hadge - 02-01-2016 Hi All, I will second that ..... I have just installed them and had a very quick look at the Perekop scenarios (I'm still trying to take hex 42,13 in Bluecoat) Credit to Chris M for what is clearly a very nice piece of work - congrats. Winter counter attack looks interesting - is that going to be available to download anytime soon? Cheers, Chris (the other one) |
