email problem Microsoft Outlook 2010-- Can not switch from offline - Big Dawg - 05-25-2012

I somehow have engaged "work off line" and can not get it back "online". I do not get email. I will try to work on this further but with son's baseball will likely be Saturday. I looked up how to go from "offline" to "online" but when I hit button nothing happens. I also shut down computer and turned it back on without any luck.
