Been away for 6 years, now I'm kind of back - Hellman - 08-10-2011

First I want to salute you all, old players that I still recognize here on the forums.

Myself haven't played SteelPanthers waw for ages, but I felt like I should. (no, I have NOT been in prison)
So I downloaded and installed, but the game doesn't like my windows 7. I reccon the game is history for me now, sadly. Then I installed my old SSG's Korsun Pocket, but it didn't work either.

There must be a game similar to SteelPanthers around, but which game would that be? (I don't like SPMBT much..) Probably a newer game anyway. I like to have the overview of things like in SteelPanthers. And I like the action to be around WWII.
You have any good suggestions on which game to pick up?

Cheers,
Peter Hellman

Sp does indeed work on Win7, I run both. Are you trying SP WAW or Shrapnels SPWW2 and SPMBT which are designed for windows (the old waw is still the dos engine). With the shrapnel versions you have to download the win7 patch to fix the neon colours for MBT.

Here is the link to SPWW2 from Shrapnel

Welcome back!

Time flies by when having fun, can't believe it's six years since we last were in contact. I suggest WinSPWWII, that's what I'm playing nowadays. Latest version is Win7 compatible and previous works in windowed mode.

Thanks. I picked up SPWWII with all patches. Looks to be working fine. SPWAW I can get "working" but it acts too strange to be taken seriously.

Gotta fiddle around some with SPWWII now, before I'm ready to kick ass! :smoke:

Any other game you could suggest as a good one, for someone who likes sp?

I remember you well Vesku!
