Looking for a battle - AxonalDendritus - 07-18-2011

Hello,

I just spent last couple of hours looking on internet for any website
which helps with finding opponents to play Steel Panthers PBEM
battles.

Blitz seemed to be promising, but now that I logged in I can't find any
mechanism that allows to join or create battle challenges. Can anybody tell
me how it works or whether there are better places on internet to look
for opponents ?

Thanks,
Jan

Welcome Jan

You have found the right place. I'm sure someone will contact you soon for a battle. If not I'd be happy to oblige you.
Also, you may want to look for an opponent in the " Boot Camp " section and give someone a challenge.

Good Luck

Hi Jan. This is the best place. You can also play WaW site.
You have to have patience. It's not like arcade games, but opponents will not stop when you get to play.
Right now I have 4 games on this site, 4 games on the WaW and 1 game in the official forum. So much for my time. If you are new you can find a tutor.
Be patient in a few days and will be playing.
Other places to get players:
WaW:

Please check the link, that's pretty much how getting opponent/s goes.

RE: Looking for a battle - AxonalDendritus - 07-19-2011

Thanks a lot to everybody for replies,

I have been playing SP a lot years ago, and had fair number of hot seat and fewer PBEM games under my belt, but stopped playing for years and so - by all means - I should be considered as a newby right now.

Somebody suggested to put a challenge in a 'bootcamp'. Do you mean the following forum: 'The Boot Campers Battle for Berlin: Reichstag # 2' or am I missing something ?

One more thing, after researching on the current versions of SP, I understand there are currently two major clones - the one from Shrapnel and one from Matrix games. Which version do I need to play with the people on this site? Currently I have the the SPWAW 8.403 installed?

In any case I would be happy to take up any challenge to play, although I'm most experienced with the Axis units.

Jan

Oh and one more thing, if anybody is offering mentoring I'm happy to accept it :-)

Hello and welcome to the blitz..

we play al of the SP variants here.. and few mods for SPWAW also. By far the most popular versions are the SPCAMO's WinWW2 and WinMBT

When I first came to the blitz.. 8 years ago now, I was only familiar with SPWAW and one of the original series; SP3..

In my opinion, the SPCAMO variants are far and away the best SP games. both can be downloaded for free from shrapnel games. Once you learn them, and if you like them enough, then I would highly recommend purchasing the enhanced versions that are offered for sale.

have you found and opponent yet? if not, and if you would like to learn either WinWW2 or WinMBT, I would be happy to mentor you for a game or two.

my e-mail is: [email protected]

Cheers!
Greybeard

Welcome to the Blitz!
You found the right place for finding opponents in all Steel Panther versions.
If i were you,i would go to Shrapnel and install both of those free games and take Greybeards offer on mentoring.
