Map editor? - Ratzki - 06-11-2011

Does CMN come with a map maker/battle maker that is as easy to use as was the one in CMx1?

RE: Map editor? - Dutch Grenadier - 06-11-2011

Yes it has a mission editor and you can setup quick battle's.

How is it for making maps from scratch?

RE: Map editor? - Dutch Grenadier - 06-12-2011

That I dont know. All I know is that it has a map editor.
I tried it just to look at all the units.

Maybe you have more luck in a decent anwser at the BFC forum.

It is the easiest, most intuitive map maker I've ever come across. What do you want to know Ratzki?

I was wondering what everyone thought about it. As well with the new terrain tiles being much smaller, how the MMaker would work for making maps from scratch. The CMx1 MMaker was quick but was a real pain to get accurate maps without MappingMision and a whole lotta work. Just trying to figure out how this one worked is all.

@Ratzki

I've just sent you a tutorial on map making.

I find the editor to be really user friendly, there are a couple things to grasp conceptually compared to the CMx1 editor, these are; Elevation tool, multiple layers on an action spot, and creation of roadways. After a few hours of toying around you should be able to create a workable 800m x 800m map in maybe an hour or so, and maybe another 20 minutes to place 'Flavor Objects' and align them properly. But the final product is well worth it...
