It is amazing how very modern this airplane looks, produced only 40 years after the Wright brothers flew the first airplane, or whoever it was, when ever it was? jonny

Answering my own question here: The first real controlled flight seems to have been by Wilbur Wright, October 5, 1905: Wright Flyer III in a flight of 24 miles in 39 minutes (a world record that stood until Orville Wright broke it in 1908) and returns to land the plane at the takeoff site. :rolleyes2:
