AIW installation problem - Jeff Conner - 01-27-2009

Gentlemen:

I can't seem to get AIW to install correctly. The mod seems to install ok, but when I try to run a scenario, I get an error message and the map will not display. I get background sounds and the first turn splash screen, but no maps or units. I am patched to 1.01. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmmm. My installation worked fine the first shot out of the gate. Usually the patch thing is the most obvious, but it seems you've got that covered. Short of unistalling AIW and SAW, then reinstalling, I'm not sure what the issue might be.

Anyone?

RE: AIW installation problem - IronX - 01-29-2009

Hi Jeff

It sounds like some of the files relating to the scenario are either not present or corrupted. What was the scenario that didn't work?

I double-checked all the scenarios on a separate machine to see that they were working before making the mod available (and they were) so I can only suggest trying the uninstall/reinstall method at this stage - unless it is a common problem.

I have the same problem. My Afghan war is patched with latest patch.

I installed the AIW - it starts - I select the scenario and get error

"Error reading scenario file" no maps shows at all.

Any help?

Paul

Gentlemen:

That is the same error message I received and it occurred with any scenario I tried. I reinstalled SAW and downloaded a new copy of the AIW mod. When I installed it into a fresh copy of SAW, it seemed to work fine. I haven't had time to play with it yet, but it looks like it will run fine now. Thanks for your help and for a wonderful mod.

Any help is appreciated :(

RE: AIW installation problem - Alpha Zwo - 02-09-2009

You installed the SAW V1.01 patch before installing the AIW mod? Are you trying to open the AIW scenarios, not SAW? :whis:

RE: AIW installation problem - Paulinski - 02-09-2009

Installed fresh install of SAW

Patched to 1.01

Installed AIW

Go to HPS - AIW folder launch the game from there still the same message.

Also scenario descriptions have bunch of weird numbers.

Still getting the error reading scenario file after I select scenario / side and optional rules and try to start a scenario.

RE: AIW installation problem - general_solomon - 04-18-2009

i am having the same issue with the long war mod.

the error reading scenario file after I select scenario / side and optional rules and try to start a scenario.

RE: AIW installation problem - IronX - 04-18-2009

Which scenario(s) give you this error? And what version of the mod are you running?

I have seen this during testing and it occurs when there is a miss-match between the scenario file and the associated OOB. If, for example, the OOB has been updated but the scenario file has not, this error will occur. I was sure these were all fixed in the latest updates so if you can tell me which one is doing it I can check it out.

Thanks!
