Abandoning vehicles - Liebchen - 10-25-2008

When I read of such routs as west of Stalingrad, approaching Berlin, or wherever, I note the common reaction to low fuel crises being the abandonment of one vehicle, and dedication of the abandoned vehicle's fuel to another vehicle.

It occurs to me that this might be represented in the PzC context by the forced march of a low-fuel unit. This would allow the unit normal movement range/speed, but would sacrifice some vehicles instead.

(I don't know how this could be implemented with infantry units. I understand the low-fuel situation in an infantry unit to be representing difficulties moving their support echelon. Perhaps the forced march could bring on a low-ammo situation.)

Just some thoughts. Not necessarily lobbying for any changes to the game engine.
