Trouble with Matrix CS reinstal - Michael - 08-25-2008 After a major comp failure, I have tried to reinstall CS to no avail. I get error MSG #486 ( I think that was it) and then it closes out. I have the extended License that allows me to reinstall. And I cant fihure out what I'm doing wrong. Any help is appreciated. Michael Ps to the guys I owe turns to hang in there. RE: Trouble with Matrix CS reinstal - Michael - 08-25-2008 I have XP and as far as I know I am not logged on under admin. Also Cant get my WFII and EFII Gold editions to install either. All games are on a separate physical drive (K) from my os drive © And before the crash all of them worked fine. RE: Trouble with Matrix CS reinstal - junk2drive - 08-25-2008 At Matrixgames JTCS forum are a few posts about 486 errors and they seem to be related to serial number errors. Maybe go to findmyorder and verify that you wrote the serial number down correctly. I think you have to have admin rights to install programs in XP after all the service packs. RE: Trouble with Matrix CS reinstal - Michael - 08-25-2008 Results. When I initially reinstalled, I down loaded straight from the Matrix site and put in my Serial Number. This time I DL'd from the Findmyorder store site and it worked! Yeah! Next question is do I have to install the updates/patches in order?or can I go straight to 1.03? If there is room on the CD copy the 1.03 too. Then you won't have to download if something happens again.
