Total War in Germany 3.0 - Aaron - 05-24-2007

I know of a few games of 2.0 going on right now but i see theres 20+ downloads of 3.0 and im using it as a test bed for a new scenario that im making from scratch, new year, new oob, blank map. Im still 4-8 weeks away from completion but i need feedback from those who are playing 3.0. Good or bad let me now how its going so i can improve what u dont like or keep things in the game that u do like.

Thanks

Aaron

RE: Total War in Germany 3.0 - Michal - 05-31-2007

Aaron!

First of all I looked at the OOB and I think it needs some corrections, mainly with WarPac OOB.

For example:
- GSFG hadn't T-72s at all!
GSFG had the newest tanks and vehicles, and I'm sure in 1985 they hadn't such obsolete vehicles as BTR-40!

- The same with NVA - they use BRDM-2s in their recon units (named SPW40P2)

- Polish Army hadn't BTRs and 2S3s but OT-64s and vz.77s instead.
BTR-50s (called OT-62) were used only in 7th Landing Division.

- What Russian 12th Army could do in Germany?
I think the task to support Western Direction was assigned to 5GTA, 7GTA and 28A from Byelorussian Military Zone and perhaps 11GA of Baltic MZ (1TD, 40GTD and 1GMRD)
24TD was school unit and had different tasks......

- I assume that 6MRD from northern Poland had to join 11GA in order to support northern flank and 20TD from southern Poland to join 1GTA.

More corrections later :)
I offer my help.

greetings

Michal

Hi Michal

I look at your link ,and i have many questions.
In every Cz divisions we could find an helico sq ,what sort of materials are use and how many .
In the 19 ,20 i don't see any Art Bn in the Mechanized Inf Rgt with OT-64.is it normal? or could we think it's D30 Bn?

Thanks

RE: Total War in Germany 3.0 - Michal - 05-31-2007

Greg,

1. I only know the Czechoslovak regiments armed with 2S1s (MSRs: 49., 57., 10. and 3. and TRs: 1., 2., 21., 11., 12., 18.).
Rest of the regiments was equipped with towed guns, but I'am not able to point the type, because since 1981 D-30s introducing instead of old vz. 38/74 howitzers took place.
I SUPPOSE that 19 and 20 MRD (as first-line units) were equipped with D-30 but I'm not sure of that.

2. Heli units of divisions (they didn't act in all div's) were equipped mainly with Mi-2 Hoplite, which serves for liaison and recon duties.

3. OOB of the 4th Guards Army I'll check later. I have to find it in my data first.

Ok Michal
Thanks
other question i reade in your link that Polish army have 715 122mm M30
is this only M30 or could we thinks they have some D30?

Thanks
Greg

RE: Total War in Germany 3.0 - Michal - 05-31-2007

Polish army didn't have D-30s at all!
2S1s were introduced in place of M-30s in first-line units in '80s.

Everything is in the tanknet thread.

RE: Total War in Germany 3.0 - Michal - 06-01-2007

Greg,

I 've found OOB of soviet 4th army, but are you sure you mean it?
The soviet 4th Army belonged to the Transcaucasus Military District, consist of four MRDs (23rd, 60th, 216th and 295th)
and stationed on Caucasus, in Baku...
It is far, far away... ;)

Perhaps you mean Czechoslovak or Polish 4th army (absolutely not guards! :) )?
OOB of them both is in the mentioned tanknet thread.

Michal
