LITERATURE QUIZ - H.v.F. - 05-04-2007 If I say "Glenn Sire" what does it come to your mind ? Gio RE: LITERATURE QUIZ - Copper - 05-09-2007 A cheap sounding Scotch Whiskey or an Italian Submarine RE: LITERATURE QUIZ - H.v.F. - 05-09-2007 Heheh ! A likely name for some sort of Scotch..... Come on ! How can it be that I have been the only one to read that book ? Maybe just one copy sold (to me) ? Tomorrow the full revelation....... H.v.F. RE: LITERATURE QUIZ - RedDevil - 05-09-2007 was it in the discount bin? :) RE: LITERATURE QUIZ - Copper - 05-09-2007 Maybe it was written in sanskrit? RE: LITERATURE QUIZ - H.v.F. - 05-10-2007 First, I have to apologise since, not having the book with me, I did a mistake writing the name of the author: actually it was Glen Sire and not Glenn Sire. That said, Mr. Sire wrote a book published for the first time in Italy in 1965, a translation from the original English edition, titled "The Deathmakers". In the story Captain Brandon commands the vanguard of a US Armoured Division heading for Czech borders in the closing days of WW II. I was young when saw the book for the first time, but still consider it a very good book, and want to recommend the reading. Regards Gio |
