RE: NGP85 scenario - Aaron - 04-14-2007

ah the south we can only hope

RE: NGP85 scenario - greg - 04-14-2007

We really need the south...imagine the assault of 1 Russian and 2 Czechoslovakian more army on 4 to 5 divisions...Great!!!
than we could imagine the Italian army flanking the WP via Austria ...
and so many more
we just need the map

greg

c'est vrai, it's just the map.

where did you do your research on the NATO and WP OOBs?
i assume you have all the osprey cold war titles?

do you know the old boardgame 'the third world war' by GDW?
you can take a look at it here:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3605
great game - i'm still looking for the northern europe expansion...

another interesting game is
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/2079
very good game map of central europe

cheers

Radetzky

you know the Orbat.com and of course osprey ...and some books like Mi24 where i found the numbers of Mi 24 ...for east German and Poland ...it's not easy to do something good when you have a lake of vocabulary like me...

for the games i know the second not the first ...

so John we are tow for a big map it's enough ...no?Big Grin

RE: NGP85 scenario - Radetzky - 04-14-2007

'the third world war' is a great game , and 'great' is
to be taken literaly here, for the only place where i
can put the combined europe maps is the floor.

but imagine all the strategic possibilities the commanders
have - if one would plan to play the combined game,
he should take a week off...

your english isn't that bad, i'd say. aren't there any interesting
sources in french? but since De Gaulle left NATO for good, i
can imagine the french didn't care that much about NATO
forces. what about belgian sources? or are you from belgium
anyway?

best
jan

RE: NGP85 scenario - greg - 04-14-2007

french sources are not easy to find not cause of the grand Charles but cause the french don't like to play wargames ...
it's very difficult to find anythings about french army and because of lot of changing started in 1984 many OOB are wrong ...
i found the Belgium OOB in the RAIDS magazine ...a french military magazine.
