Yup - Elxaime - 03-30-2007

One of the reasons the alternative mod is eagerly awaited is a chance to see how the Allied armies might have performed had they not been hampered by their doctrines and various poor orders. Basically, to present their forces based on a dispassionate analysis of what they were capable of, not what they actually accomplished. This should make for a more balanced and difficult campaign for the German player. The German Generals were expecting difficulty based on their own analysis of their enemies. The extent of the defeat that occurred surprised them.

Are you talking about a particular game or the series in general?

Fury

I think he is talking about the Alternative F'40 Campaign

RE: Yup - Dog Soldier - 03-31-2007

YUP! The revised F40 CG with alternative strategies by David and RickyB is a great experience.

Both sides can try some different approaches to the campaign. Watch those panzers burn when they run into the combined French and British armor. See if you can hold the Belgian border fort of Eban Emal a day longer than historically was done.

Do not play this if you prefer the Allies crumble and buckle under the panzer assault. If your looking for a game of Frenchy roundup, stick to the AI. It can be cornered and slaughtered.

A good Allied commander will give the German player a run for his money.
