Aircraft attacking helicopters? - Alpha Zwo - 07-30-2006

I am just reading "Sword Point" by Harold Coyle. There is a chapter, where US aircraft (F-15) attack Soviet helicopters transporting airborne forces. I do not know if this is realistic, but if it is, why is it not possible to attack helicopters in travel mode with aircraft in the HPS games? :conf: Thanks.

Cheers

RE: Aircraft attacking helicopters? - Dog Soldier - 07-30-2006

I would guess there is no air to air combat code in the MC series.

Fixed wing aircraft would be deadly to helos, so an allowance would have to be made for the side owning the helos to provide fixed wing cover...

and now this is all getting well beyond the original scope of the game which is operational ground combat.

A nice add-on to be sure, but I doubt Tiller & co. wants to go in that direction form what I have read on this board in the past.
Still you could bring it up with JT yourself at Tillercon II in May...
