To the points made by some of the folks here, I'd like to say that alcohol (like most other things) should only be used in moderation - this thread and the poll are not a glorification of excess. And I know whereof I speak. Partially as a result of being genetically susceptible to alcoholism, in my younger years I was probably an actual alcoholic though at the time of course I would have said not. It really ruined a large portion of my life and I've taken years of hard work to recover, and still will not ever be where I would have been had I not wasted my time with booze and partying. Nevertheless, I do occasionally enjoy a cold beer or a bourbon and coke. Moderation in all things. And if I can ever do anything to spare others the learning curve I went through, I do it. LR I like my beer in a frozen mug, one so cold the beer gets a skim of ice on it when first poured. But that's just me. |
