Not quite...Renown was a battlecruiser, with 6 15" guns as her main armament, Scharnhorst and Gneisenau had 9 11" Renown scored 3 hits on Gneisenau, interalia disabling her main armament FC. Renown hit twice, no significant damage. Germans broke off the action, Renown pursued in worsening weather and rising seas but the Germans made good their escape RE: H2H Whats the point. - The Rattler - 12-04-2008 Thanks for the clarification KK....:-) that is another point sometimes sources of information differ quite a bit. cheers |
