It works! Thanks.
I finally got it working.
Nicely done! I like how you can filter the scenarios by size. Very handy.

Hey bigus, nice to hear that!  Wink
Clicking on the map will also open an enlarged version. I should include a tooltip or something.

Thanks Mike!

By the way - the launcher found a small issue in scenario 430803-Cross.scn, specifically in the .oob. A Quality value is set to 36, when it should go from 0 to 7 (X to A+ in-game). Here's the actual report:

In sqoob.exe, the unit appears with a Quality of '?'. However in the game the unit gets assigned an "A" quality value.

SBHQ uses a stricter validation process, and will complain if it finds a problem with a file that typically would not cause issues with the stock sqoob.exe.

For my next version I'll try to improve error reports to troubleshoot non-working scenarios. I think could be useful to release as a separate validation tool...
Thanks for the JSGME fix, that's awesome.

Another thing I'd like to see is being able to open more that one editor at once. I could do this outside SBHQ obviously, but it's real handy being able to open an editor with the scenario-specific data already open.

Thanks Carlos, I will address that ASAP!!

No problem! Smile

Thanks for the suggestion, I keep forgetting to add it. The next version will allow you to open the editors concurrently.

Cool! Here's the path to the unit in question:

I will add this feature in the next version, I don't think sqoob.exe has a "Find" function...?

  • scans all my SB games and gives me the details of the .bte files, particularly the date they were saved, the name of the scenario, the original scenario file name. (some scenario designers give their games different file names and scenario names and this can make it difficult to find the right scenario when reporting it at the Blitz, (your SBHQ program reports both the scenario and file name, and that's a useful feature for that very reason)

Mark,
Those are very good. I actually intended to provide all that functionality but I hit a brick wall - encryption. The program takes everything it needs from the .bte files and doesn't keep any metadata (which explains why there's no validation and you can accidentally open your opponent's file). Encryption makes it impossible to determine info like scenario, current turn, etc.

You'll notice the standard in-game PBEM dialog provides no info for encrypted saves either... realistically, we could have the program provide you with a list of all your PBEM games and then custom information fields that you could fill manually with opponent name, turn, and other notes. I have to mull it over a bit more to see if it'd be actually usable and worth the effort.

Well, that's embarrassing... Looks like I simply forgot to check for it! It's a quick fix so I can upload a new version right now, but I don't have the game -- could you please let me know the executable? Is it fw.exe?
Thanks Carlos,
Its a shame it cant provide that functionality. What you describe as an alternative sounds good, but filling in fields manually doesn't sound that attractive.
Carlos, that seems to be in error, my oob shows it quality B?

In Notepad there is a 36, weird???

Mike, could it be that you're working with an updated .oob? I'm using the one zipped into the latest SBWW2 v.22.

EDIT: Solved the issue - you're looking at a different unit, you need to access via 193rd Rifle Div (see my pic with the path in a previous post)

This is a complex oob! We could really use a Find button... :-P
