PBEM is the best way to play these games and you can't pick one title above another, they are all at their best when played that way.

Totally agree, still play the AI occasionally, but PBEM is definitely the way to go, the idea there is a living breathing person behind the opfor is exhilarating to say the least!

Two very different games, for sure. If you want hard-core WWII infantry/armor action, Red Victory is, IMHO, the best WWII SB game made.
If you like smaller, more intimate battle space, SAW is a great pick. I love them both.
