Greetings PzB players,

I have had a few positive comments about my PzB Vertical Info Panel - (panel with hex info on the left by default).

If you would like to use this download by pasting this link in your browser

http://www.users.on.net/~jennnie/JTS/BlankboxV.bmp

The .bmp file will be saved to your Download directory.

This will work with any PzB game.

Locate the /info directory,

rename original BlankboxV.bmp, eg. BlankboxVorig.bmp

Paste my version in.

Easy to make with Gimp etc - 8 bit bmp file

... or via attachment - if this feature works!

Fwiw- it will take up to a 24 bit bmp file but not 32 bit.
Thanks for this. Nice to know one can change this panel. I've seen screen shots of others artwork and was wondering how it is done.
One question. I tried making it more yellowish using Gimp (to fit NAfrica 1941.) It seems to change it and saves ok, overriding your existing, but when I play the game it still comes up as monochrome. Any ideas on this?
Thanks in advance.
Confirm that your modified BlankboxV.bmp file in the info directory has your changes - view with Paint or other software.
Firstly Gimp saved under its .xcf extension and was not found, and secondly I needed to Export rather than save. (Interestingly the game would not start if the file was not there.) Now sorted. Thanks.

Gimp's BMP export function is not very good, unfortunately. First, you need to remember to exclude the color information for it to work, then also remember to select the 24 bit color depth, both as separate options in the export dialog.
Thanks.
