In the scenario 'AFNorth Prepared' there is a comment. - "Volcano Man's" NGP85 pictures pack download required to play. Can anyone tell me whether that additional pack is still required with the Gold edition (which I just bought), or is it included? Thanks!

Everything is included.
Volcano Man’s scenarios are included, the graphics have been supplanted by the Gold versions.
