To whom it May Concern,

I have a question about corps attachments in Japan '46.   In the Campaign games units that are initially assigned to the US Army Reserve Pacific cannot be reattached to armies or corps.  Unless these units are collocated with divisions in the same sector assigned to a corps, they get no support from corps/army artillery or naval gunfire support. Is this intentional or an oversight?

Sincerely,

Pete

PS: I am not new to this forum.  I once posted on here prodigiously, but Its been about 15 years since I participated here.  Unfortunately, real life got in the way of my one of my favorite hobbies.  I just didn't have the time to devote to playing games vs an opponent, so made do with playing solitaire when I had a chance. I own just about every HPS/JTS Panzer Campaigns game.
Units assigned to army-level HQ's can't be reassigned.

"Corps attachments" is quite literal in the sense that only divisional, brigade or regimental level units attached to corps level HQ's can be reassigned. A workaround is to create dummy HQ's below army level.

This issue also appeared in France '40 Gold, but was fixed in a patch by creating a dummy HQ below army level.
There is a dummy HQ at Army level here. From memory the units included in the Pacific Reserve are for various variants in the campaign. That said if the units arrive as individual Divisions they should be able to be assigned, but they may only be in the editor.

Can you give me some specific examples of the units you are seeing an issue with and I can follow up.

David
Hello David,

In the Coronet campaign scenario, the 97th Infantry Div and the 11th Airborne Div, are attached to US Army Reserves Pacific, and the 503rd Parachutes Infantry Regt is attached to First Army. I saw the dummy headquarters in the OOB editor, but its not in the campaign scenario.

Thanks for your response

Peter.
