JTS just released new updates for all of the EAW titles; 1776, 1812, FIW, & MAW.

In addition to this, JTS also released 3D maps for the EAW series.

All of these updates and 3D maps can be found on the JTS Updates Page located here:

You can take out all of the 2d files with 200 in the Map folder; your zoom will still work but it will be the magnify the 100 size -like some of the other series do.  I tried that out yesterday -sort of by accident.

So with the map editor, what would stop you from making that title that you were talking about? I assume it is that Simon Bolivar South American Wars of Independence that I've seen in your posts over the years.

Actually ... come to think of it ... that gives me an idea ... making my own title ...  (down the track though).
Thank you a lot, it works, only thing is i notice you dont need need remove the 200 files, only the 2DSymbolsMag file because this is the one used when you enter in full 2D zoom.

Yes, i was thinking in a title covering the wars of liberation in south America, its fun because a pair of days ago a game from Avalon covering them enter in kickstarter to try made it more complete with 3 extra scens apart release a tabletop version of PC game.

Game is from same guys that create "Battle For Spain" and many other AGEOD titles (a pair of civil wars, spanish and english)... is sad  dont see them moving to M&P-EAW-PzC-FWW scales, well, Battles for Spain has battalion scale but is in the abstract area, no men-guns-tanks only dots as force but the art part is great.

For what i understand in your last line still is hope, in my case my experience with creation comes from the rework i did in Jarama37 OOB to made it closer to Mcnamara standar apart other gameplay adjustments that is the smaller work in a big work a title needs.

Again great work with the update and waiting more sweets to come in 2019  Helmet Wink
I can't take any credit for that update  - Rich Hamilton put it together from a variety of things he had collected.

I'll have to keep that tip in mind, as I only was isolating all of those files when I was trying some things with graphics over my weekend.  I won't even call it a mod yet- more like a trial run for when I get some time and can put everything together ... but then again, I got a million things all on that list of things I want to do at some point -- and right now all of that is about 3rd on the list.

1st is a coding project -not EAW related.  2nd is pulling together the material that is there for the SYW 3D levels ... and after all of that is completed ... then there is going to probably be time for other things. . .

One of which still is getting Jarama '37 posted to the site ... I have to see if it works with Kursk Gold -if it does ... maybe I will work some with the 2D units files too.  I haven't tried that yest, so I have no idea if it works - but don't know why it wouldn't.

Ok, back to EAW and projects ... my apologies - I was meaning that I did have a project in mind, but it is a different one... it sort of came to me while I was writing out the post in one of those ... 'why not?' moments...

Also - I have (for 1776) a Savannah map - that needs some work. It wasn't my own map - but rather one I got sent a long long time ago; I thought it needed some work back then - but I might be able to put together something on that in both 1778 and 1779 -it was some real early OOB file creation experience ... you could call it my introduction to the OOB file editing. ;)

If the same thing is done with the NB editor -maybe even if not (as it can probably work in the Musket and Pike engine as well), I want to look into doing a Napoleon in Egypt project - like your Jarama '37. I don't know that I have the enough reference material yet - but for sure the artwork isn't going to be a problem.
Well, a new game is always wellcome, i am not closed to other periods, oposite, i allways find interesting move out of WWII confort zone... maybe this is why i have Age Of Rifles as one of the best wargames ever.

Jarama37 is not mine, i simple reworked the OOB to made it more into the alt scen style, the mod was done for a really great modder, saddly we cant see more of his work to complete a proper full Spanish civil war title.

Napoleon in Epypt is a good and different titlemaybe Tiller could release "minigames" or create titles ala Salerno43.

I need to clarify - these wouldn't be Tiller projects, but rather more accurately be called an SDC project (or projects since I guess I talked about more than 1).

And by being that -they wouldn't be sold, just available.   In an SDC project, there certainly could be 'mini-games'; I hadn't really thought about it to that extent - but it could well end up being a layered approach.  A core module - which are basically graphics and some general files for a project. I'm not sure what all that EAW has or where their weapons' ratings are from.  In other series there's be a weapons.dat file.  EAW being older might not be set up that way though.  Then go from there as a scenario is going to require a .scn, a .pdt, and a .map file - but why couldn't they be released as one goes?

You made a great point.
Well, around Tiller games there was and there is a great amount of talent, in the moment you manage to join it in same place you have things like WDS, since the kaos arond the development of new Tiller titles  take off like a rocket and if you add ALL the Gold-reworks done...

I allways said that a good aproximation now with the high quality demo like the PzB one is use it as base game and made small titles (around a specific battle or small actions not linked in same battle for example) work over it.

Other good thing is give people tools and made they can create mods for the demo and made it even more attractive, add to this  "cheap" add-ons (DLCs) and you can in the end finish with a title bigger than a regular one apart could be used ad tech bench to test concepts for a new title... for example in demo was released a desert title before PzB NA41.

Sorry for the Off-Topic  Propeller Hat

Returning to the topic, is nice see content is coming to EAW from modders, is curious but EAW offer more community content when you compared with Nap serie... i remember Mollwitz battle mod for 1776 and another one that appear and disappear in days and i missed.

Expect you have fun with your projects  Helmet Wink
