Am i mistaken or is the getting startetd scenario nearly impossible to win with the russians?
I come close enough to the objectives but have so heavy losses that defeat seems ineviteable.
Are the bigger scenarios similar in that they are near impossible to win with the russians?
Usually i have little trouble winning against the AI, after 1 or 2  tries at least.
Here i just don't get it, even with FOW off.
Any opinions?
As to my understanding, "getting started" scenarios aren't exactly meant to be "won". They are just there for you to get a hang of the game and how that particular campaign plays out. As they are really short, you also have little room for mistakes which makes things even harder.
I would agree with All American's assessment. It has been forever since even looked at the Rzhev started scenario, and although they should be balanced a bit, they are really focused more on learning things rather than playing for victory.

OK, thank you very much. So i can tell you from my experience that most getting startet scenarios i tried are quite easy to win against the AI, but Rzhev is really hard. Just my observation. Marketing wise i assume it would be better if it would be modified, so to make the whole game (Rzhev) more approachable. Personally it is not really important to me, as I soon will be playing larger scenarios.:) And the small scenario in the Mius Demo is quite good, i can recommend ist for someone getting into the system. Also playing this HtH at the Moment and really enjoying it!
So i played the _alt scenario (getting startet) with the _alt optional rules and though it was only a draw i came very close to victory. I am far too inexperienced to say how and by what modifications this happened though.
And i still assume that this scenario is still very much in favor of the germans if played PBEM.
But who cares, I am lerning and having fun :)

PS and for balance, mirrored games are best anyway, IMHO
All of the east front Panzer Campaigns games really should be played vs pbem to get the most out of them.
Winning and losing is secondary to just experiencing the campaign.
get yourself some pbem opponents and really enjoy the campaign.
Thank you very much for your kind words, I am on my way to that :)
