Which of the couple of full campaign scenarios represents the most historical start?

Thanks

Personally, I would recommend 0708_01: The Drive on Smolensk_Alt by Michael Avanzini, Rick Bancroft (edited: Williams). This campaign starts earlier than the standard campaign (by Greg "Sturmer" Smith) so the two are not directly comparable but, as I understand it, the Azanzini OB was state-of-the-art at the time, and so should generally be more historically accurate. Of course both were done a long time ago.
But in terms of the 'historical start', my own personal view is that the Avanzini campaign is better but perhaps still has some issues. In my experience, Guderian will be across the Dnepr a couple of days early and Mogilev is unlikely to hold out as it did historically. Also, in the Avanzini version (but not the standard version) Hoth will probably not be able to recreate the attack on Vitebsk via Gorodok in the historical timeframe. But these are just my perceptions and I am certainly no expert. From memory someone did try to address these and/or some other issues in a revised version of the campaign but I am not now sure of the details.
