I get an error message when using the brevity campaign I did a screen shot but cannot post it 

ERROR ID 1000 (filem.cpp,line,1094,filemenu::oldbattle0)

That is an indication of a "file data read error".  (You can probably confirm this by looking in your Logs/engine.log file.)

It seems that your save file maybe got corrupted somehow.  Please post it here, and we will look into it.
