I'm considering purchasing the Kursk 43 in the Panzer Campaign series.

I've already got the demo Mius43 title

Can you recommend other popular titles that are played here?

cheers

You will not go wrong in selecting any of the titles found in this series.

All titles have small, medium, and large sized scenarios.

The best advice is to select titles that you have a strong interest in.

Before you know it, you will be hooked and addicted and finding yourself having to purchase several of the titles!   LOL
Thanks for reply

I've read reviews that Karkov43 is recommended for beginners but I've got more interest in Kursk43

I'm learning with demo Mius43 anyway

cheers
Hmm, I am playing Kharkov '43 and am an experience player and find it no cakewalk ... its a real challenge for either side ...

I like the mobile situations the best. Here are my favorite East Front games:

Smolensk '41
Kharkov '42
Stalingrad '42
Kharkov '43

My only qualm about choosing Kursk as an introduction would be that many of the scenarios are fairly static, with the Germans assaulting dug in Soviets.  So as a first look at the series I think this might be off putting.  My personal preference is for a setting that has more room for maneuver on both sides. Of the Eastern Front titles I own, Smolensk is my favourite for this reason, Kharkov 42 a close second.

..But as a series these games are truly great, I have been playing them for 20 years and they have plenty of life left in them. I fully intend to still be playing the series in another 20 years.

As Compass Rose has already mentioned, getting a game from a theatre you are already interested in is very important. These aren't difficult games to get to grips with. Tricky to master perhaps, but you can be having good fun with just a grasp of the basics in your first game.

...And lets just give a thought to your family here. We need to give a thought to them because you're going to be away from them for a long time now. So from their point of view  Helmet Rolleyes  ....... its all good because; for one thing you wont be bothering them so much from now on, and for another,  Christmas and Birthday presents are already sorted for you for the next decade or so.  Big Grin
Kursk '43 is quite the slugfest as the name itself suggests. If you have a particular interest in the battle, go for it. Also consider getting Panzer Battles Kursk if that's the case.

I personally don't enjoy clearing lanes through minefields and assaulting dug-in positions and bunkers too much, maneuver-heavy games are more fun for me as others have pointed out. In the end though it all comes down to personal preference.

Smolensk '41 is hands down my favorite WW2 Panzer Campaigns title!  Helmet Smile

Maneuver and mobile rule!

I am currently playing as the Germans in a PBeM Panzer Campaigns match (Smolensk Campaign Game - 176 turns) and having a blast!  Big Grin

Here are my top three Eastern Front PzC titles:

(1.) Smolensk '41
(2.) Kharkov '42
(3.) Stalingrad '42
Let's not forget the desert titles.
It seems that Smolensk '41 is favorite here whilst Kharkov 42 is second.

Whilst I have interest in Kursk43, I'd rather play a title that other players have interest in.

Kursk43 could be static and boring for the Russians

Thanks for feed back
You will find opponents here for any of the games.

I do recommend Kharkov 42 as it is one of the few battles where both the Germans and Soviets have very similar choices and options and it will teach you A LOT about the capabilities of each side.

The same goes for the 1985 Germany games btw
