Recently began updating to the Gold versions.
Been playing Panzer Campaigns since they first came out, belonged to the old PzC Club.
Appreciate the updates but I prefer the old Toolbar, don't care for the pastel colors, and the icons are a bit harder for me to see.

Just wondering if there is any way I can reset to the old toolbar icons ?
I don't see them in any of the graphic folders so I'm guessing they are created in the windows during the coding and are probably not able to be modified.
I'm also old school, my biggest gripe with the tool bar, proceed to next turn button is next to the change travel mode button. OK there is a slight space, but IMO the proceed to next turn button should be isolated from game play buttons.
I second the motion to have the old toolbar as an option. I like sharp, distinct graphics and the new toolbar images leave much to be desired.

One of the MAIN things I love about a John Tiller Software product is the GUI. Its easy to use. Its very similar from game to game too.

As I get older I loathe having to learn new GUIs. Its one of the big reasons why I dont buy games from other companies. I mainly play the games from JTS and that's it. (I do play Field of Glory and Battle Academy from Slitherine Ltd. - both have easy to understand GUIs)

When in doubt .. use the menus ;)

In the game menu click "Settings" and then enable "Ask Before Advancing" setting. Should have a check mark beside it.

The "Ask Before Advancing" setting will ensure that players will not accidentally end their turn by mistakenly clicking the "Next Turn" button.

No need to redo the tool bar since enabling the appropriate settings eliminates this "problem."   Wink

I have used this setting for decades, so that I don't end my turn prematurely, BUT since the GOLD upgrade I have inadvertently during game play clicked on "advance turn " instead of change travel mode an increased number of times. Again IMO the end of turn button should be relocated or isolated I.E a bigger space on each side,to reduce this fault. In retrospect maybe it's a age thing, however I suspect it's mostly older guy's who play these games.
Again I am not moaning, but the way the toolbar is available in PzB with multiple options under the settings tab gives the player the option to display the toolbar anyway they choose.  Smile

+1
The end turn button in the new taskbar is on the extreme left.

IMO the Gold Series toolbar is laid out in a logical and intuitive manner.

Similar functionality is grouped together and color coded. Also, there is cursor roll over with pop ups that label each tool icon.

You also have the option of either using the tool icons or the pull down menus. For me, I always use the majority of tool icons during game, but then always use the pull down menu under "Command" to perform unit breakdown or combine instead of the tool icon. It's that kind of "simple elegance" that I find very appealing in the Gold Series.

Looking forward to the conversion of the remaining PzC titles to the Gold Series!  Big Grin

Bottom line, we are just customer's here, I really appreciate the Gold edition free upgrade and enjoy playing the games.

Maybe the toolbar is laid out in a logical and intuitive manner with similar functionality button's grouped together and colour coded, BUT it only use's half of the screens available width ( 1920 x 1080 on my monitor ), there is more than enough space to spread out the groupings.
As long as we're talking about the Gold series - I agree with the OP  about not liking the pastel ground colors.

How can I get the more natural, darker terrain colors back?
