I often get the feeling that the Russian side of things are often neglected in wargaming. Therefore, just out of curiosity, what is the best PzC to be played as such? I've been thinking about getting Rzhev, now that it's gold as well. But I'd love to hear about your opinions.
How about Kharkov ‘42 or Kharkov ‘43 (operation Gallop and Star). Both have the Russians on the attack.

Other options mighty be Minsk ‘44 (operation Bagration) and Korsun ‘44. Haven’t played these though, so can’t comment on the fun factor.
Kharkov games are both good in my opinion.
I like to distinguish between small-medium scenarios and the campaigns...as with all PZC titles, most of the small/med scenarios are well balanced and enjoyable as both sides.

Now, when it comes to the campaigns, Rzhev is a slug fest, the Russians are on the offensive but it's slow going.

I agree with Jesopi that both Kharkov's are more fun as the Russians, but the Germans also get to play. Each side takes a turn being the aggressor so to speak. I'm playing Kharkov '42 right now and smashing the Huns north of Kharkov and fighting for my life southeast of Izyum!

If you're looking for a solid Russian-orientated one, Minsk '44 is for sure the one-the campaign is massive and totally a Russian extravaganza!

As always, just my own opinions! Cheers, J
I like Smolensk. I think that Rzhev would be too static to be very much fun. I also didn't care for Minsk 44, because it is also a real slug-fest and massive traffic jam, given all of the fortifications, rivers and other terrain.
I play smaller and medium sized scenarios more often than campaigns. With that in mind, what about Budapest '45?
Budapest might be a valid option. Both sides are attacking, but I think most of the attacking is for the Germans. So I'm not sure it is that interesting when playing against the German ai. Pbem should be interesting for both sides.

Another option might be Stalingrad? A number of small/medium scenario's with the Russians on the attacking side.
I bought Stalingrad '42 and I'm having a blast already. Will be looking forward to PBEM, thanks people.

Nice!  Helmet Smile Glad you like it. I'm pretty busy at the moment, but if you are looking for a pbem game in the future you may always pm me.
