Does anyone own Target For Today by Legion Wargames?  If so, what do you think of it?

With it appearing to be a make over of B-17 Queen of the Skies, it sure looks good!
It is very good. That is, if you are ready to throw a lot of dice and have the abstraction power of creating your own story from dice and charts. But if you know B-17 QotS, you know what to expect.
Rules are clear and well written. Additional help may be derived from forums like BoardgameGeek or Consimworld. Components are of good quality. Sequence of play has many phases, but you master them quickly and after a few plays it all runs smoothly.

Another possibility is B-29 and Hell over Korea, focusing on bombing ops on Japan and Korea.
In the first game there is much less air-to-air combat than with TfT, reflecting the relative weakness of Japanese air defence compared to that encountered over Germany. But tension arises from the sheer distance to be flown and related fuel management, plus there is a random hazard element reflecting the tendency of the bombers to have this or that device breaking down (e.g. pressurization is out, gauges go mad, etc.).
In the second one, that is an expansion and not a full game, air-to-air combat comes back with a revenge since your somewhat obsolete bomber may get savaged by Mig 15 jets.

And if you still want a different savour while sticking to this kind of solitaire games, you have Picket Duty, where you are busy with a FLAK and radar destroyer against kamikaze attacks in 1945.

Sorry if I got slightly off-topic, but I know most people will rush on the well-known Reich bombing game while the Asian theatre, Korean war and US Navy games are all as good, deserve attention and have the extra plus of getting the player with something unusual (yes, I have a board game on the Battle of Tanga in 1914 and no games on the Battle of the Bulge).

Chad,

Did you get the game?

They have it here for $64 and free shipping.

Hey Dan,

No, decided to stick with B-17 QOTS since it can be played on Vassal.

If a Vassal TFT mod is released, I may consider it.
