Full Version: Opponents can't view my replays

Hey Guys:

This probably belongs in the technical section....but I've got two different opponents who can't view (part) of my replays.

Other than reloading the entire game from scratch I have no idea what to do to fix this.
If anyone has any input or advice I'd love to hear.

I do spend a lot of time on these monster moves, big scenarios, teamgames, etc., sometimes leaving the game running for a couple days, because as we all know saving = cheating... Whip

I also spend a lot of time in the editors (scenario/oob/map) but I can't imagine how that would cause this issue?

In closing...the entire dance to reload this devil from scratch...can someone point me to a list/sequence?
I'm sure it's somewhere in these forums...probably more than once...but I haven't been able to find it yet.

My old brain seems to recall doing it something like this...

Dont Know
Dizzy
Confused

Yikes2
Twilight Zone
I swear I heard Rod Serling's voice doing a monologue somewhere in the background...

Short version, remove program (via windows) and reinstall (via download).  I still have all the original disks.

LONG version, all that stuff about the version 2.0, shortcuts on desktops, two different versions of the game, yeah, that part gets REAL fuzzy.  My question to the smart is....do I even need the old game?  I don't play the old version at all anymore.

Regards,

Dan
Not sure what's going on with others not able to see your replays...?

However as for number of installs, you only need one. At the time 2.00 came out, and folks had for instance PBEM games going on with 1.04, we recommended to keep the old and to install the new into a new location.

Not really required anymore. I recommend running the uninstall function on 1.04, so that the Windows registry entries are gone. If a 1.04 folder still remains after the uninstall, that's the stuff you've place there after the original install, and you can then remove them manually.

Thanks for the reply.
I'll follow your instructions to the letter.

Hi Dan, so your game runs ok for you, and you can view replays, but the opponent either can't see your replays, or is their some error message? Sure it's not maybe the opponents machine can't handle that much going on? It's a monster scenario, right, or, is this involving smaller ones as well. I would try to send a test small game, see if they can open that one, before reinstalling.
