Full Version: What could a Campaign Series Great War commercial title look like?

When working on my next scenario for the "Campaign Series Great War" mod I thought it would be interesting, and perhaps helpful to make some suggestions here as to what sort of shape a future commercial base game on the subject and its associated expansion modules could take.

To maximise interest, I think it would be a good idea to use the overall package to look at 20th century warfare prior to World War 2 with the cut off point being the end of the Spanish Civil War in Europe and just before the start of the official Sino Japanese War in 1937 in the Far East.  This would mean that some of the 1930's content currently in "West Front" and "Rising Sun" such as that for the Spanish Civil War and the invasion of Ethiopia in "West Front" would migrate to the new title.

Ideally I would suggest that coverage could best be handled in a base game and 3 expansion modules . More details on the suggested armies / forces released with each module and the theatres / wars covered is included in attached MS Word  document.

The table also includes details of the existing scenario coverage in the mod and what is readily available in terms of PC, board and figure war gaming resources to build more scenarios for the mod right now.

If 3 expansion modules was perceived as spreading things too thin the number of modules could perhaps be reduced to 2 by merging modules 2 and 3 while if it was thought  that a base game devoted entirely to the Western Front would not generate sufficient interest that you might also want to merge the base game with  the 1st proposed expansion module (covering the Eastern Front and the Russian Civil War)  whose more freewheeling open battles, armoured trains etc could appeal to a wider audience.

Any thoughts guys ?
Regards
Ian
