Full Version: FWWC - fatigue recovery at night lower than at day?

Hi
From my tests in other games I know that the recovery value is approximately the value of fatigue you recover.
France14 uses 15 per turn, at night that value is supposed to be double, but night turns are 6 hour turns.
Simple math would be:
3 turns at day = 6 hours = 45
1 turn at night = 6 hours = 30
As I haven't tested it yet, can anyone confirm this?
Cheers
Actual fatigue recovery is anywhere from 0 to double the PDT value, for a day turn. Not sure what you want confirmed, based on the user manual your math is correct if that is what you are looking for. This does ignore that units active at night under the optional default Night Fatigue rule will pick up additional fatigue unlike in day turns.

It would require a programming change to allow units to recover equal fatigue at night over the day (it is also possible the manual is incorrect or misleading and the number of hours are included in how much fatigue is recovered already), and with the night fatigue penalty it does help drive the need to rest at night when possible or units will end up in the red even without fighting.

I did run a simple limited test and due to the variable recovery, I had the same unit recover 50 pts one turn (night) and 5 on the following turn - which was after a night turn into the first day turn. So it may determine the recovery based on the current turn day/night rather than the one with no movement, but that is hard to judge without an in depth test. Other units had 45/27, 33/9, 10/6 on the same 2 turns, so that drop does lead me to think the recovery is per the current turn condition rather than the one when resting, which is a bit odd/surprising. I would guess that means moving in the last day turn would result in night fatigue on the following turn, but I didn't check for that.

I do notice that when you dig on the last day turn and stop digging for your night turn, you still accumulate fatigue. Helmet Rolleyes  jonny

As the fatigue accumulation was adjusted in a recent patch, I wonder if the same could be done for the fatigue recovery.
Instead of doubling the value in night turns it could be tripled, by that day and night recovery would at least be the same.
