I have downloaded the latest V1.07 patch and am rather sure I did everything right during installation, but after starting the game it still shows V1.06. Any ideas what probably went wrong?

I have the same problem! It is only displayed v 1.06

My fault - I forgot to update the menu - Help - About Roman Civil Wars pop-up to version 1.07. However, you will have downloaded the latest version and you should be good to play.
