Sorry David. Wiggum's map also looked great, in that case! Aside from the buildings.

I think yours is fine now David, good to go, though it's true as Wiggum said that the orchards look better less hexagonal, with a little irregularity, I think. But as you've done it is just fine. There is something to be said for orchards being rectangular signs, as they are man-made, unlike the (natural) forests which do have that irregularity. Bunkers and obstacles much better. Like them. Roads spot on.

I really like Wiggum's map rails too, I must say. The map type rail stands out more from the roads, I think, because of the striped pattern, and is very familiar and readable, as a standard 'map' design. Shame we can't combine your work to save you effort! If so my own preference would be to use those rails in Wiggum's, his orchards, maybe, too.

Can one of you, or both, post them please, so I can use them!!!!

Peter

I like your design on the counters, Wiggum - great stuff - though I myself couldn't use because I'm fairly colour-blind and have difficulties when greens and reds appear in small quantities like that.

Hi !

I first want to complete the artwork, then i will post a new version of my mod which will include the smaller terrain features like buildings, rails, hedgerows, forests etcetera.

You will be able to combine my modded artwork with Strelas work.
Thanks Wiggum.

Peter
David:

New one looks better. Thinner hedgerows are a huge improvement.

Thanks for your work.

Gerry
Experiment with new bridge artwork.
With the corrected scale, bridges would now be very small if you want to keep them in scale so i decide to use a "real map like" approach just as with the railroads.

What do you think ?

Thank you for the mod. Also, that was quick, lol.

Just an idea though. It would be nice if someone could alter the alt. graphics settings, so the units would be more spread out in a nonspecific direction. I like the new graphics, but it just always bothers me to no end when the direction of the icons are fixed.
Like the bridges, Wiggum. I like everything that makes it look more like a real life map, basically.....though I like David's new bridges too. It's all a great alternative, I think, for those that might want to the map to look more to scale.

When's it done? And have you modded your buildings, or are you leaving them that large? I wonder how David managed to produce buildings that looked to scale so quickly? Not by drawing them from scratch?

Your buildings are smaller, I believe, though not as small as David's, and not as dense. The thinner hedges in both versions makes a huge difference to readability, I think.

Hope I can get both these mods soon.

Peter
I just decided to copy Davids' buildings from the files he send me... Big Grin
So there should be no difference.

His scaled down buildings look as good as possible, i dont think i could do it that well.

Whilst waiting for your full, complete mod, Wiggum, and for David's, I have a comment on the mod (Wiggum's I mean) as it is now. I love the landscape desaturation, by the way.

But, is this working as intended?

For me I can barely see the difference between the Axis units in the yellow circle and the Brit units in the red circle. This is the Caumont scenario, if you want to check it . It's clearer if I use the figurative symbols, but with these non-NATO symbols (which I prefer, and I like your working of them too) the colours are not differentiated enough, I think. No?

Peter
Yeah I see the problem, will fix it in the next version.
