I'm trying to create a BlankboxV.bmp for a Panzer Campaign game. I took an existing one and added some text to it so I could keep track of the keyboard shortcuts.

I took the original out of the Info folder and place the new one in. Initially, the left bar was entirely white and didn't show the selected units. Also the app would crash eventually.

I noticed that the color bit depth on my version was 32bit while the original was 24 bit.

I converted mine to 24bit and it worked better. The side bar was black, the units would show up in it, and the app wouldn't crash. However, the core image of the BlankboxV.bmp and my new text wasn't showing up.

Are there other parameters/characteristics of the file that I need to consider to get this to work?

Hi,

I downloaded your file and converted it to a 24 bit BMP file and it worked fine.

I'm attaching my conversion here for you to test.

Download for adjusted BlanboxV.bmp

Thanks for the file. Works great! Wonder what I did wrong . . .

Yes, a clever idea I shamelessly borrowed from someone else. :)
