Announcing the UKRAINE STORM CMBS TOURNAMENT!

I created this tourney map based on stock map 012R but added lots more trees to conceal movement, whereas on open maps both players are paralysed by the threat of longrange fire.
The three objective areas are the same distance from both players start zones, so players start on a level playing field and have wide flexibility of choice whether to go down the arrows for 1,2 or all 3 objs, therefore giving a tense nailbiting game because you won't know exactly which sector the enemy is going for.
Vehicles can move through all the woods because they've got a light forest floor.

The centre village on a tranquil summer's day, what could possibly happen to disturb the peace?-

It's run on the same format as most of my previous Blitz tourneys, namely-
You play just ONE Meeting Engagement game against me (you're Ukrainian, I'm Russian), and whoever beats me by the highest margin wins this small 6" hallowed silver trophy inscribed with his name.
(I've lost about half my ladder games so far, so you've got at least a 50/50 chance of busting my ass)

I don't win the tourney myself, all I can hope for is to pick up a few ladder points without sulking and pouting too much along the way.
The parameters. Note it's set at 'Basic Training' difficulty level which might or might not improve the smoothness of the game's spotting mechanics.
And according to the manual, infantry don't panic so easily at this level, and they heal wounded buddies faster.

Post any questions and death threats etc in this thread, and if you want to sign up and have a crack at stopping Putin, either say so here or PM or mail me pooroldspike (at)aol (dotcom).
I'll then send you the map to put in your QB maps folder, and send you file 001, (let me know if you want to play by mail or Dropbox, I'm fine with either)
The tourney ends at midnight on June 30th (about 5 weeks from now which should be ample time for everybody to finish the game without time pressure), or earlier if all the results are in before then.
The sign-up is permanently open so there's no rush, for example you could sign up in the last week of June if you think you can finish before the 30th.
And there's no limit on the number of people who can enter; the entire Klingon High Council can sign up if they like..:)

Your tanks solid AP shots won't know that and will still fly at a zillion feet per second when you pull the trigger, so that makes you just as dangerous as anybody else..:)
As discussed

Sounds interesting - and fun. Did you mean it when you said you wanted to play on Basic Training? That has borg spotting. Are you willing to play on Elite instead?

Nah, everybody is saying the CMBS/RT spotting mechanics are jerky, so Basic Training might smooth things out a bit.
As for borg spotting, it's in CMx1 and most people don't seem to mind.
Anyway on the modern electronic battlefield borg spotting is the norm because of all the eyes in the sky like AWACS, drones, minidrones, infra-red technology, improved squad-to-squad communications etc..:)

FIRST BLOOD IN THE TOURNEY!
My T-90 (foreground) and Hunter2's Oplot come face to face as they round a corner of a wood and both realistically fire at the same time..:)

It's too early to tell if the simultaneous firing was due to the Basic Training Level, but on the higher levels (Vet/ Warrior/ Elite/ Iron) one tank usually sees the other first while the other stays unrealistically as blind as a bat and gets blown away

OK well then. I see. I don't have any interest in returning to borg spotting - getting rid of borg spotting was is the single biggest improvement over CM1x in my opinion. It honestly never occurred to me that anyone would like it. There ya go - different strokes.

Have fun guys.
(Ongoing tourney game)- My two T-90's occupy the central village and break out the vodka, but their celebrations are rudely interrupted when GazNZ's Tunguska (circled) begins hosing them down..
(note: I'm trying out Lt Smash's floating icons mod)
