Looking for strong, spiteful, experienced opponents only!
No cheaters, reloaders, whiners and beginners.
Here still there are such men?

WinSPWW2 v.8.1 and WinSPMBT v.9.1
Single games or short PBEM campaign
Any years/sides (my favorite - 1942-1944 or early/medium MBT years).
5-15% of artillery limit.
On an average 1-2 turns per day.
Some reasonable limitation rules are allowed. Write your important things before start the game!
Still actual.
Shit man, looks like your recent opponents must have demotivated you a little, right? ^^

I believe I could stand for it. Normally I would be pretty mad for such "selection", but we are men, so:
Cheaters: never happened. Damn, how can you cheat in this game anyway?
Reloaders: never happened. I can go for full protection if game is short, for longer ones I prefer basic since if one surrenders its easier to rewind it till the end.
Beginners: In-game constantly for about 5 years, active on Blitz for like 2 years maybe. Well enough? Mainly in unreported battles as I don't care for stats or into campaigns.

Game version: I am at SPMBT on 9.0 but as long as its not full protection game seems to be working and does not give an error. SPWW2 can be upgraded to 8.1 if needed, but same as above. I need to prioritize campaign requirements.

Notes: I would discuss artillery limit, I just keep it reasonable. What size fits you? I prefer battalion+ up to brigade level, but all can be negotiated. I have my own set of rules, they focus on realism and cut down power gaming, which means companies only rule, no free snipers/scouts, sticking to more or less realistic unit expectancy, that sort of stuff. If you like it mature should not bother at all.
There can be something else that bothers though: I am rarely into meeting engagements. If you want one you should argument it well enough. Delays or defences are more common for me. I prefer historical engagements in SPWW2 and What-if's in SPMBT together with historical.
If you ask me, early SPMBT... what could be... if you are brave enough, challenge me as Egyptian in '56. I am looking for an opponent to make Pork Chop Hill reconstruction also. What else... Oh, india Pakistan, all 3 wars. Sino-Indian one but I am not fully convinced. Taiwan or Chinese Civil War...
If this does not fit, propose something else. In WW2, our mate here wants to test his Bulgarian scenario and I am up to it. Besides, we can discuss more WW2 variants.

Did I forget anything?

My recent opponents was quite good, but 3 of 4 of them vanished after loss. Only resilient, stubborn Air Master still trying to revenge. Therefore I have some free time and wish to begin one more game.
I need more food! Devil

What problem? You can copy game folder to another place and upgrade only it, saving ability play campaign at old folder/version.

Limitation in % are usual and most fair.

Not agree play with "companies only rule". Also snipers/scouts contains not all types infantry companies. Bad rule!

Because I usually play agressively, I offer Advance (me) vs Delay (you). But I must have more battle points!

I offer next detailized list of rules:

1. Version - WinSPWW2 8.1
2. Save slot 002
3. Date: October 1942 (Second Battle of El Alamein)
4. Main nations: Germany (you) vs GB (me).
5. Allowed Allied nations - Italy for Germany and Australia for GB. Unlimited %.
6. Captured nations - no.
7. GB Advance vs Germany Delay
8. Battle points: 6000 for Germany, 8500 for GB.
9. Turns: 36
10. Visibility: 50
11. Basic Security
12. Map - approx. 120х120 or bigger.

Artillery

13. 10% artillery limit, it including cost of ammo carriers.
14. Fast Artillery: OFF

Air

15. Air Sorties: 3 for GB, 2 for Germany.

Other Preferences

16. All realism preferences is ON (settings at 100%)
17. No more that 1 additional (IF the coy doesn't have that unit type organically) sniper/scout section for each company.

Your corrections?
Couple:
1. Version does not matter if we go basic. Nothing will happen
2. Save slot: I am starting a campaign, I am not yet sure about the slots. But this should be clear before we start
13. If you really wish so, can be. Why so strict on arty btw?
14. This does not matter for me, I am used to fast one though
17. Objection. Full and full companies only. If there are no snipers... deal with it, shit happens. Obviously I will not tale FJ Companies just because they have snipers. Relax on that, I try to keep it realistic to maximum. Snipers were really rare thing. Same applies to tanks, squadrons/coys only. I can understand a RATIONAL number of free platoons for support purposes, eg. tank battalion gets a platoon of tank destroyers. This makes sense. Do you know what I generally mean? I try to stick to sort of "probable formations" rather than "a bit of everything"
1. No. Version must be same number anyway, error will occurs.
Important in 8.1:
36 Updated OOB files
A bug with secure PBEM games losing any Opfire filters or plotted artillery barrages has been corrected.
What problem upgrade version in another folder? It is fast.
2. Ok
13. Because arty (which can bombard via "B" menu, not include Flaks, AT-guns, SP-guns) and Ammo cariers are very strong. And if we will set bigger %, game turn into "World of Arty" with permanent pinned infantry.
This rule against overwhelming superiority arty on battlefield.
14.Ok
17. I don't will play with rule "full companies only". In is stupid and non-historic also.
In reality, very rare battles occur in full companies, often use parts of companies or mixed battlegroups.
Very often companies use added platoons and sections from other type of troops.
You take into account in your "realism" rule? No.
Also, with such rule I never may purchase some units, which no exist in companies. For example, October 1942, GB:
Flame-tank
CS Tank
Heavy A/C
SPAA
Heavy Mortars
Ordnance
AAMG

And more!

Vickers HMG I can purchase if I will buy Ghurka rifle company ONLY. I don't want buy whole company as reason to take one HMG. It is stupid. In reality, MMG and HMG squads was added as support to all companies, not only Ghurka!
But with your "realism" rule - I can't!

Spit on snipers, I don't fear it. You can purchase horde of snipers - no matter. Personally I very rarely use it. So, I can allow you to purchase unlimited number of "formidable" snipers, but I should buy no one sniper. Special rule! Do you want? Big Grin

But I want have an ability purchase several scouts (Patrol unit) without necessity to buy whole Ghurka rifle company (because only it contains Patrol as own part). May be, I want use RM commando or Mech inf Company instead Ghurka?
But I can't again, or I must play without Patrol and HMG units!

Your "realism" rule crude and unacceptable.

Seems we don't reach agreement...
First of all...

And do not attack someone else's rules using rather offensive language. Particularly here, since this forums have rather older age users. I am used to flame when I need, not sure about them.

Well said. "Type of troops". But it is relatively rare (and odd) if battalion sized battle group (or greater, knowing our point amount) you have a platoon of all sort of soldiers in it. Platoon of Paras here (because they have loads of SMG so they are good in cities), platoon of gurkhas here because these are good, platoon of Holemand Defense (?!) securing the back of El Alamein etc.
Full company rule applies to cut such situations, mainly among infantry units, less around tanks. It works. It is realistic, I played a lot with this rule, no one was ever bothered. Plus it emphesises on good use of support units, eg. in bigger battles it is good to take entire battalion with Heavy Weapons Company that has Vickers and stuff.

Yet, to make things clear: This rule applies only and only to the units that CAN be deployed in company (and eventually, battery also). For this reason, you are pretty much unlimited in just all the stuff you listed. At least when we play battle like that, not relaying on real life ORBATs. What I often do.
Then, read again this part:
Quote:I can understand a RATIONAL number of free platoons for support purposes, eg. tank battalion gets a platoon of tank destroyers. This makes sense.

If you will use it rationally, such us yes, scout section for company, maybe MGs for comapny as well, I see no problem with that. If I happen to see 20 Vickers covering 3 platoons, one para, one ghurka, one reserve or something, then I may be pretty mad.

Now, if you know my approach, I hope you understand what I mean by "full company rule"
Ok, let try to play with your rule. But I changed my mind and now want to take Germans at October 1943:

1. Version - WinSPWW2 8.1
2. Save slot 002
3. Date: October 1943
4. Main nations: Germany (me) vs nation at your choice.
5. Allowed Allied nations - later.
6. Captured nations - later.
7. Germany Advance vs your Delay
8. Battle points: 8500 for Germany, 6000 for Allies.
9. Turns: 36
10. Visibility: later
11. Basic Security
12. Map - approx. 120х120 or bigger.

Artillery

13. 10% artillery limit, it including cost of ammo carriers.
14. Fast Artillery: OFF

Air

15. Air Sorties: 3 for Germany, 2 for Allies.

Other Preferences

16. All realism preferences is ON (settings at 100%)
17. Full company rule.
This looks good. I think I will take Soviets handling a series of German counter-attacks around Dripropetrovsk.
I will upgrade my game to 8.1. You will make a setup?

10. Basic Security
11. Custom map 120х140
