The whole purpose behind having and playing in this tournament is not based on winning or loosing, it is to have fun and meet other Blitz members who share this great hobby with you.

So in order to keep it fun, we need to have some rules to govern our play.

While playing in this tournament, all players will be required to follow all Blitz policies and procedures which include the Rules of Engagement which can be found here:

Leipzig Tournament Rules

First, you must be a member of the Black Powder game ladder. If you are not, you will be required to join the ladder or you will not be allowed to start this tournament.

I am fully aware that life can get in the way and unforeseen things can pop up without warning. If any player who develops a need for a very short leave of absence, please inform your opponent and myself either on the forum board, email, or via private message.

If you turn up missing and are not responding to private messages, emails, or forum board threads, you can be considered AWOL/Missing. If you are declared AWOL/Missing, you will forfeit all of your current ongoing tournament game(s) as Major Losses which will be recorded on the game ladder.

If you decide to withdrawal from the tournament, I hope that you will notify your opponent(s) and also myself. Leaving the tournament without notifying anyone will cause problems and will lead to disruption of the tournament. Notifying myself in a timely manner will also be a help as it will allow me some extra time to search for a replacement player.

At the start of each game please post a message in the thread I create stating that you have started your game against your opponent. Please include the screen name of your opponent you are referring to. If you have no success in contacting your opponent within a few days of the start of a new round, please contact me as soon as possible. (Don’t wait 2 weeks to let me know that you can not contact your opponent.) Also, please notify me when you have completed your game(s) or finished a round via email or on the forum board. After finishing your games, make sure that either you or your opponent record the game on the Black Powder Ladder.

I will start the next round when all players are finished with their current round.

As a reminder, make sure your email address in your profile is up to date so you can receive any messages from your opponents.

Finally, make sure you are all running update 1.05 for Leipzig. The update can be located here:
