Hello...

Ever notice how 'guns' and such are really 'tough' in the game? I mean they really 'hang in there', down to the last gun! Really, what are these things... 47mm AT guns act like they are dug-in JS-III's?!

So, if you are as tired of that as I am, here is something you can try. There is another game series, Campaign Series (a combination of the Talonsoft East Front, West Front, Rising Sun games). Use the 'factors' for the units given in that game for the factors in the HPS PzC games. It takes a little work. I recommend starting with a 'small' scenario. But the results are really amazing. I can't explain why it works, but it does!

I would not do this in a PBEM game. ATG are easy prey for artillery and infantry, at least in my experience.

I know this is an old thread, but I agree with dgk. You can always just run the OOB program and downgrade the defensive values of the gun units to whatever you like. In the Tunisia game, the German 88s absolutely DOMINATE the game, and not just against armor but infantry too. I thought they were rated way too high vs soft targets and so dug into the OB and set their soft attack factor to a more reasonable level. It's not the most user friendly program in the world, but once you figure it out it's pretty easy, if not a little time-consuming. Worth it, though, in my opinion.

And a certain non-starter for PBEM games unless both sides agree to such changes.

Agreed, it is a great feature that you can change any values you don't agree with and designers often encourage players that have strong feelings against certain values to do just that. Wink

However as DS states you MUST remember what changes you have made to the OOB and not use those values in a PBEM game unless you have prior agreement with your opponent even if you have lowered unit values! Smile

Best practise is to create a copy of the OOB to make your changes in and so keep the original OOB file for PBEM games.
