Trying to get back into gaming, ordered WOSF.Cant seem to find much interest or any reviews.Am I missing it or is the game a loser?
When The First Blitzkrieg was released there was some interest in the title and quite a few games were reported, that was despite the game system being very quirky and abstract.

Unfortunately the designer was not available to contribute to the forums to answer players query's and questions and that is a sure fire way for the community to lose interest in a new series real fast, especially a series with a quirky and abstract game system.

So when the second title of the series War on the Southern Front was released there was very little chat about it and no posts asking for games etc..............

So I am not saying there is anything wrong with the game or series, it just never caught on here.

I think it is still worth you posting for a game if you decide to go down the PBEM route as you may find another Blitzer who wants a game. Wink
I'm thinking about sending it back unopened. What attracted me was the supposedly better ai in this series...oh well.
I have no idea of how effective the AI is in comparison to other JT series?
As Mr G said, the game never really got the attention it deserved. The lack of information from the developer(s) hasn't helped. It does need some upgrading - especially in the graphics area to take advantage of larger monitors.

However, I wouldn't use the word quirky to describe the system. It is different and nothing like PzC or PzB. So, if you're expecting something like those two games you just as well return it. A lot of people didn't like that the predicted combat results showed on the screen. I didn't like that either at first but I found out quickly that if you rely solely on the shown predicted results you won't have much success.

IMO the AI is much better than in PzC.
Thanks for the replies,I'll keep it.Hopefully some graphic mods and or updates from HPS will be forthcoming.

Maybe you could play a game with me after I get my feet wet(or sandy)
I am pretty sure Philippe did a mod, and my own one it only dealt with the map itself.

I got some screenshots although I have never actually developed a dedicated page for it yet.

I like those North African Maps. The Afrika Corps can traverse them in style.
