I've opened up the F 14 Grand Campaign and chosen the first two Allied strategic options and I don't see the BEF on the map, nor do they come on later as reinforcements (except the 4th ID). What am I missing? jonny

No show for the BEF, not good. France will have it's work cut out now. :)

Interesting, what are the first two options? If the French start in Belgium or something like that, maybe the BEF isn't there because it removes the casus belli for the British (the Germans are no longer invading neutral Belgium, but a Belgium with French troops on its soil)?

Where is the BEF? It is in the same place where the French armies and German 1.Armee; they arrive by reinforcements depending on which strategy and operation you choose. ;) I guess the confusion from looking at the scenario is caused by the fact that you don't see S|O choices in the reinforcement list UNTIL the appropriate S|O is chosen (then the reinforcements are added to the scenario at that moment).

Anyway, take a look in the strategies and operations area, they are there, and read the notes for pros and cons of the three different choices.

Maybe I'm in the twilight zone; I have gone there before. I chose French option A which is the massive left wing. I brought on the reinforcements and dang it, I don't see any BEF on the map and I've been looking for 2 days now. Possibly I'm just not seeing them. Can anyone give me a hex number? I've tried the 'find unit' dialogue and searched but no BEF.

They don't start out on map Jonny. At least that is my best guess/analysis. I see at least some units coming on the morning of 24 Aug, by train. The grand campaign starts 15 Aug., a week before the standard campaign.

That's the 4th Division arriving on the 24th. The rest of the BEF is not on the reinforcement list and they were there for the Battle of Mons on the 20th. jonny

Oh, reading your original posts over again, maybe you are confusing the German strategy choices for the Allies??? When I chose the first German strategy and ended the turn, I got 2 strategy choices for the Allies. First was for the French, which included defensive and a couple of offensive choices. Then I got a BEF choice which includes a Mons choice - but they are listed at the very end (strategy choice reinforcements are tacked onto the end of the current list of reinfs, not where they would fall chronologically by the way).

So the first player is German and gets his strategy choice, then the allies in his turn, and should have a BEF choice separate from the French choice.
