I am looking for an opponent to play a game. I have all the Napoleonic games except Leipzig. I am not a fast player but I can manage 1-2 turns a week. I prefer to play without house rules.
Sounds promising, I'm not particularly fast either.

I am comfortable without house rules.

What optional rules do you like to have set ON?

I have HPS Waterloo and Eckmuhl. What title/scenario do you fancy?

Hope Leipzig is on your "To Get" list as I highly recommend it.

From my POV it is the the most enjoyable JTS NAP title to be released (BTW, my favorite HPS NAP title is Waterloo). For me, it has a different feel to it (in a good way), when compared to playing the other JTS NAP titles. From what I understand it was play-tested more than any of the other JTS NAP titles, and it shows! Wink
Hi Compass Rose,

Thanks for your information. Leipzig is on my list.

Cheers,

Marco

Hi Eckerslyke,

Perhaps we can play A03. Approaching Abensberg with me playing the Austrians ?

I normally play with everything checked except: Manual Defensive Fire, Partial Retreats, Line Movement restriction, Multiple Infantry Melees.

Regards,

Marco

Hello Wargamer, thanks for your response.

You wrote,

Well, I tend to like larger maps and longer scenarios than the one you suggest, because I feel it allows scope for more inventiveness (and disastrously harebrained schemes, it must be admitted).

In the A03 scenario, the impression I get is that the two sides are pretty much doomed to slug it out from where they stand. Is there a larger map and longer scenario in the same genre which might appeal to you?

I would be happy to play either side, BTW.

Among the optional rules you suggest, I note that you would have 'multiple cavalry melees' set ON. I've been discussing this with other denizens of the board, and I confess I still don't get it. I would be very interested to know what advantage (or disadvantage) you feel there might be in having that option set ON. I can't find any explanation about it in my version of the manual. Any light you can shed on why you prefer it set ON would be greatly appreciated.

Apart from that, I would also suggest having the line movement restriction set ON, for realism, although I suspect that would affect the Austrians adversely, to a greater extent than the French.
Hello Marco:

I've found an opponent now, so I won't be able to go through with setting up a battle with you just at present.

Good luck with finding an opponent!
Hi William,

No problem. Good luck with your game.
