Hi Guys

This seems to only be an issue with a Secure level security, not Basic.

Here's what DRG from SPCAMO had to say over at Shrapnel.

OK, here's what we know

1/ Opfire worked in secure PBEM up to this latest patch, now it does not

2/ This bug does not affect the Opfire routine in regular games or scenarios or campaigns and it does not affect basic security PBEM games ( including PBEM campaigns ) so ONLY secure PBEM games are affected.

3/ The issue affects both winSPWW2 and winSPMBT

4/ At this time we have NO IDEA why this may have occurred.

5/ Don't expect a resolution anytime soon but there is no doubt that at some point we will resolve the problem and issue a correction. For now, Opfire is not functional in secure PBEM games
hello, Greybeard here.. McCab and I are playing, or, rather tried to play a basic security game in MBT v8.. we both have CD's.. the opfire filters did not work for us.. so we opted to quit the v8 game and go back to v7 so the filter would work..
I just used the filter in a Basic security game of MBTv8.0®...the latest update that I am aware of. I have the CD version.
It worked fine.
I guess after reading it only affects full security games??
Yeah, that was the initial report and it seems they have no idea why and it's not likely to be fixed any time soon.
Our game is Basic sec and my op-fire filter works as normal, so not sure why the other chaps seem to be having an issue with theirs in a Basic Sec game.
I am still haveing problems. Basically, it doesn't workIf my AT weapon has a PEN of 6 and I set it with a max PEN of 4 and a min of 2, then an armored vehicle with frontal armor of 3 or 4 that is within the set range should be shot at, while one with armor of 5 should be ignored. Or at least that is the way the range filter was supposed to work I could find nothing in the manual on it.
This was tested using the latest patch. Why do you call it op-fire filter? On the screen to adjust it the label is Filter. Since that screen is under (subordinate to) the range screen, I call it range filter. Should I search again in the manual under "op fire filter"?
Well in the WW2 manual its under "OP-FIRE FILTERING", it's listed under the "CD-Extended features" what is on the last page of the manual.
Good news is they seem to have fixed it.

Bad news is they release it whenever they are done with the next patch, don't know what takes them so long as they wanted to take a break after the last patch already and so shouldn't be fooling around with the patch at all besides fixing, but anyhow at least some day we see this fix released.
Hurrah!
...and now we wait.
At least they have addressed it, but it was a real shame to have let that error through. For PBEM, to lose that filter is a game killer IMO.
Good news is always welcome though - cheers for the heads up there BigDuke!
