Reading several books at the moment and found some interesting stuff:

Robert E. Lee loved to have his hands and feet tickled and would only tell his children bedtime stories if they tickled his feet while he did so. Hope it was all just in fun and not some weird thing. (Reminisces and letters of R.E. Lee - published by his sone)

Erwin Rommel sent Hitler an undeclared ultimatum stating that either the 7th army be withdrawn behind the seine river or else the front would collapse. What he didn't state, but confided in several top commanders including Sepp Dietrich who agreed with him, is that the war could not be won so the best option was to open up the Normandy front and allow the allies a clear road to Berlin. He was en-route to Berlin to speak with Hitler about his ultimatum when he was strafed by FBs. If two more days had gone by before he was wounded the war may have been incredibly different. The 21st panzer division only contained captured tanks from early in the war when posted to Normandy.
